THERAPISTS
MARK HOLMES, PT, DPT, CSCS
Growing up in Colorado, Mark knows there is no place he would rather live. There is no other place that provides opportunities in life like Colorado. Educated with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine/Exercise Science from CSU, a Masters in Physical Therapy and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Regis University, Mark's life is devoted to helping others achieve the highest level of function. Mark is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), an active member in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) including the Private Practice Section, Orthopeadic Section, and Sports Therapy Section, while being active in the Colorado Private Practice Special Interest Group. Mark enjoys all recreational activities/sports, while spending as much time as he can with his wife, and children.

Mark became the owner of Cactus Sport & Spine, P.C. in 2003. He is committed to providing the highest quality of care within the clinic while emphasizing current best evidence for treatment. Wellness is stressed within the clinic from physical therapy, massage therapy, pilates, while providing individual training and sport conditioning programs.

Mark has a holistic approach to rehabilitation. Looking at the body as one chain, an extensive evaluation is preformed to find any problem that may be contributing to the current problem. Treatment is geared toward each individual with manual therapy, body mechanic re-education, and exercise geared to regain motion, strength and balance. Education is provided every visit to ensure long term understanding while returning to the highest level of function possible.

KIM ASELTINE PT, MS
SENSITIVE TO THE NEEDS OF INDIVIDUAL PATIENTS
"The key to a safe, fast recovery is patient education. The more patients know about how to manage their injuries, the quicker they will get back to an active lifestyle - work, leisure and sports participation."

Licensure: Physical Therapy, State of Colorado
MS: Physical Therapy, Regis University, Denver, CO
BA: Biology, Colgate University, Hamilton, NY

PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Specializing in outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine and spine. I have taken many continuing education classes to ensure my patients receive the highest quality of care.

I am currently working towards my BCIA certification in using biofeedback to treat pelvic pain and elimination disorders, such as incontinence. I will attend the Treatment of Bowel, Bladder and Pelvic Floor Disorders Course at Marquette University in June 2007. I am excited to learn treatment techniques that can significantly improve the quality of life for both men and women.

SPORTS ENTHUSIAST, ACTIVE IN THE COMMUNITY
I love the outdoors - I bike, ski, climb (ice and rock) and practice yoga. My three year old daughter also keeps me moving. I have taught Low Back School, Ski Conditioning and Kickboxing classes. As an athlete, I am familiar with the rigors of sports participation. I believe in aggressive rehabilitation but feel that "no pain, no gain" is an outdated philosophy. If your body is in pain, it is telling you something! Muscle soreness is great, but no exercise should reproduce the symptoms associated with injury.

WENDY HODGE PT, MS
I love my job and profession. I enjoy being a Physical Therapist because it allows me to help people return to their occupations, recreational activities and lives. Every patient is different despite similar medical diagnosis and it is that challenge that drives and motivates me. I strive to make each appointment a personal experience through education. I believe that each patient must be well informed in the mechanics of their disorders, injuries, or surgeries to help them not only understand the recovery process but to also prevent re-injury in the future.

I have been very lucky to have lived and been educated in beautiful parts of the world. I lived the first five years of my life in Lima, Peru. Although a short time, I believe its when my love for other cultures began. I was fortunate to be raised in the beauty of southern Arizona. I received my undergraduate BA from University of San Diego in International Relations. During my undergraduate years I was lucky to have studied in majestic Oxford England for six months with an emphasis in liberal arts. After deciding Physical Therapy was my calling instead of International Business and Finance, my Physical Therapy Graduate Studies took me to tranquil and serene, Flagstaff, Arizona. After another stint in San Diego my husband and I found ourselves three years ago moving to our home, in front of the grand Rocky Mountains, here in Denver. We could not be happier. In my spare time I love to ski (snow and water), play tennis, hike, rollerblade, read and spend time with my amazing husband and two kiddos, Allie and Dylan.

ERIC DEINES PT, DPT, CSCS
Eric graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. He continued his education at Puget Sound earning a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy in 2001. Concurrently, Eric studied for and passed the examination to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Eric moved with his wife, also a Puget Sound PT graduate, to Monterey, CA in 2001 working with various PT patient populations all the while enjoying running, hiking, and playing golf with the beautiful ocean backdrop. In 2004 Eric, a native Denverite, returned to his home state and began working at Cactus Sport & Spine. In 2006 he enrolled in the transition DPT program through the University of Puget Sound and earned his Doctorate in August of the same year.

ADRIAN STERANKA PT, MS
Adrian received his Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and Economics from Rutgers College, Rutgers University. As a physically active individual with occasional injuries, he was exposed to the field of physical therapy early on. His strong analytical background coupled with his desire to assist individuals with the recovery from injuries brought him to Colorado. He received his Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado Health Sciences. A strong background in manual therapy has been reinforced with extensive continuing education in assessment and manual therapy treatment of joint dysfunction. His love of learning has brought him back to the University of Colorado Health Science Center, where he is completing his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.

When he is not working, Adrian enjoys snowboarding, hiking, snowshoeing, biking, photography and camping. As an active individual, as most of us are, he has had his share of injuries and looks forward to incorporating his experience as a patient in helping you get yourself better.

MICHELE RIFFLE PT, MS
Education:
  • University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. Graduated in 2002
  • Carroll College, Waukesha WI, Master's degree in Physical Therapy. Graduated in 2005.
Physical Therapy Philosophy:
  • The exciting thing about physical therapy is that each patient is unique. He or she may have an injury that many other people have, but that person has a different job, hobbies, etc., that will require a plan of care just for them. I endeavor to get "hands on" with patients to understand their specific needs and limitations. I incorporate manual techniques as well as muscle re-education and therapeutic exercise to achieve the goals that the we set together.
Hobbies:
  • Hiking with my husband and our boxer Rufus
  • Skiing with friends
  • Biking in the foothills

KIM BOZICH PT, DPT, CSCS
Why am I a physical therapist?
I honestly love what I do. I am dedicated to making a difference in other people's lives. I am motivated by the challenge of analyzing the problem/dysfunction and abnormal movement patterns and seeing a positive change from my treatment. I enjoy empowering my patients/clients by working together with each of them as individuals to develop an appropriate exercise program, change poor postural habits, and make lifestyle changes as needed.

Unique skills and emphasis:
As a certified pilates teacher, my pilates knowledge is an excellent adjunct to my manual therapy skills utilized in my physical therapy practice. I have seen the benefits of movement/postural analysis and treatment and the integration of the pilates philosophy in restoring a patient's quality of life.

Continuing education commitment:
In the last several years, my emphasis with continuing education has been focused on my doctorate degree in physical therapy and my additional certification in pilates. These two accomplishments have provided me with knowledge for more effective and efficient treatment and client education.

Professional and community activities:
I have a strong passion for our Physical Therapy profession. I am currently a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), a co-chair of the APTA Governmental Affairs committee, chair of the Colorado PT-Political Action Committee, and Director at Large for the AOTA/Colorado Chapter Board of Directors.

Personal Interests:
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my two sons, Craig and Cody, my husband Curtis, and our dog, Coors. We enjoy the outdoors, camping, biking and just having fun.
